The Mobility Visit Programme is intended to support short-term visits of distinguished foreign researchers to the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS), combined with academy-wide lectures. Its aim is to promote the exchange of expertise with leading personalities of global science, to popularise top-level research among both academic and non-academic audiences, and to foster the establishment and deepening of mutual cooperation.

Duration of the visit: 5-7 days
Number of supported proposals: subject to the available budget 2027
Applications must be submitted electronically via the intranet (intranet access required) under:
Calls of the Department of International Cooperation → Mobility Visit → year 2026 form
Approval process:
- If the application is submitted by the statutory representative (director), it must be approved electronically by the deputy director
- If submitted by another applicant, it must be approved by the director of the organisation
The application must include:
- CV of the invited guest
- expected date of the visit
- expected date of the academy-wide lecture
- preliminary travel and accommodation budget
- brief description of the expected benefits for SAS and/or the wider public
All submitted applications will be reviewed by the SAS Commission for International Relations, which will rank the proposals at its meeting.
Final results will be approved by the SAS Presidium in November 2026.
The Department of International Cooperation will inform all applicants of the outcome.
- Funding amount: up to eligible costs, maximum €2,000 per guest
- Funding is provided to the SAS organisation in the form of reimbursement after the visit
- Financial rules were approved on 10 August 2023 (Resolution No. 693.C)
