Japan Society for Promotion of Science offers 1 possibility:
for one- to two-year postdoctoral internships for researchers of all scientific disciplines who completed their doctoral studies no more than 6 years ago (April 2, 2017 at the latest).
The deadline for submitting applications for JSPS internships is January 31. 2023!!!!
Applications are submitted to the Department of International Cooperation of the SAS Office. A candidate can be nominated to JSPS only through the Department of International Cooperation.
Internships are focused on natural, technical and social sciences.
JSPS covers the living expenses (return ticket, monthly allowance of ¥362,000, incurred expenses of ¥200,000, travel insurance). The invitation letter is by the host Japanese institution is necessary!
It is necessary to start the stay between 1 April 2023 and 30 November 2023.
Applications must contain the following information:
– the original of the completed and signed application from JSPS (Postdoc Application Form for 2023) – in the attachment, instructions for filling out the application form in the attachment
– original letter of invitation from a Japanese institution (sample attached)
– the original letter of recommendation from the current, or previous employer
– a copy of the PhD. Diploma (diploma does not have to be officially translated) or – if at the date of application, a PhD degree. has not yet been awarded – a letter from the applicant’s sending institution stating the exact date when the PhD degree will be awarded.
All documents must be in English or in Japanese.
The Department of International Cooperation will send the application to JSPS and will inform applicants about the results of the selection procedure.
