Action Austria – Slovakia, cooperation in science and education, is a bilateral programme to support cooperation between Austria and Slovakia in the field of higher education, science and research.The Action is funded in equal parts by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic and the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research of the Republic of Austria. The administrative body of the Action is a 10-member board – five members of the board are appointed by the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic and five members by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research of the Republic of Austria. Dr. František Fundárek represents the SAS in the management board of the Action Austria – Slovakia since 2017. Applicants from institutes and research centres of the Slovak Academy of Sciences are also involved in individual calls within the Action, while the success rate has been maintained at a high level on a long-term basis.
