NANOBIO4CAN Project is a mobility scholarship program for postdoctoral researchers, aims to develop „Nanobiotechnologies for Innovative Therapeutic Approaches in Cancer“. While SUNUM is the coordinator of the project, Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG), Koç University Research Center for Translational Medicine (KUTTAM) and TUBITAK-MAM are the implementing organizations. It is financially supported by the European Research Executive Agency and cofunded by TUBITAK under the HORIZON-MSCA-2022-COFUND-01 call.
- Project Duration: November 1, 2023 – October 31, 2028 (60 months)
- Objective: Employment of 24 postdoctoral researchers for 24-month fixed-term contracts in the field of nanobiotechnology.
- Call Timeline: 2 call periods (12 researchers in each period).
Program Aims and Priorities
NANOBIO4CAN focuses on research priorities in cancer research, such as Drug Development, Targeting System Development, Delivery Systems, and Testing and Validation Systems. It offers opportunities for:
- International networking,
- Intersectoral mobility,
- Interdisciplinary collaboration.
Fellows are encouraged to integrate entrepreneurial skills into their academic careers, create roadmaps for the commercialization of research outcomes, and license technologies.
2nd Call Timeline
- February 1–28, 2025: Collection of preliminary applications
- March 3–17, 2025: Matching candidates with supervisors (based on candidate preferences and supervisors‘ approval)
- April 1, 2025: Opening date of the first call
- June 30, 2025: Application deadline
- August 1–October 15, 2025: External scientific evaluations
- November 3–21, 2025: Interviews
- December 15, 2025: Announcement of the final list
- January 1, 2026: Recruitment and contract signing
- April 1, 2026: Start of the NANOBIO4CAN program
